2025 NEBRASKA WEED CONTROL ASSOCIATION
SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES
Children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and children under the legal guardianship of current Nebraska Weed Control Superintendents are eligible to apply for a NWCA scholarship.
Applicants must be seniors attending an accredited Nebraska High School or currently enrolled at a Nebraska College.
The scholarship may be used for any costs associated with continuing education including, but not limited to, tuition, books, fees, room and board. The scholarship applies to the first full semester or quarter of the 2025-26 academic year. The scholarship may not be used for summer sessions or online-only courses.
Applications must be postmarked on or before March 1, 2025. Applications postmarked after March 1, 2025 will not be considered. Scholarship recipients will be notified on or before April 10, 2025.
Recipients must attend a post-high school educational institution within the state of Nebraska.
Applicants must submit an essay entitled "The Importance of County Weed Departments in Nebraska".
Applicants must sign the application and waiver authorizing inquiry into enrollment status.
The scholarship selection committee may consider need, merit, achievements and other criteria deemed appropriate. Decisions of the scholarship selection committee are final.
Two scholarships in the amount of $500 will be awarded. Scholarship checks will be awarded to recipients upon submission of proof of enrollment.
